Winters are very dark, which is often a good thing for visitors as you cannot see the Northern Lights unless it‘s extremely dark. Summers are such a contrast, virtually 24 hours of daylight
Due to the gulf stream, the temperatures in Iceland are surprisingly mild in the winter time. The average during winter is 0°Celcius while the average during summer is 11° Celsius. Due to winds it is usually colder in Iceland than the temperature says.
